I was so excited to head down to Christchurch today with a bunch of like minded photographers from all sides of New Zealand for a workshop with the amazing Jasmine Star. Jasmine & her hubby JD had travelled all the way over from Orange County in California, so it was something pretty special to hear her speak of her career, life & all things wedding photography. There was so much to take in and by the time I arrived back home there were many ideas & exciting new things I just wanted to do all at once!
We ventured out onto the streets of Christchurch in the early afternoon for a photoshoot at the Arts Centre with fantastic models Leon, Anna, Katie & Brad. The ‘grooms’ were all kitted out in cool suits from Working Style, while the ‘brides’ wore some absolutely gorgeous gowns from Louise Anderson Bridal Design. It was a great opportunity to see Jasmine along with other photographers in action.
There was so much that I got out of the workshop and it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Fiona Andersen. Thank you so much to Fiona for arranging for Jasmine to come over, and a huge thanks to Jasmine & JD for making the trip. Its a long way from the USA out to little old New Zealand, but its definately not something I will forget in a hurry! I look forward to sharing a few things I picked up – 2010 is going to be an exciting year. And onto some photos from the shoot! Enjoy!
